Nam and Matthew's Engagement Party

Nam and I have been best good friends since the ripe old age of 12. It's hard to believe so much time has gone by, and now my best buddy is getting married. I am so honored that she and her fiance, Matthew, asked me to take pictures at their engagement party. I must say, it was probably the most interesting engagement party I've ever been to. It consisted of a ceremony where the groom's family brings gifts (including a whole pig - yum!), proposes marriage to the bride's family, they accept, the couple prays to their ancestors, they drink tea together, he puts jewelry on her, then we all have a cognac toast and feast. It was so hard to choose what photos to put up here since there were so many great pictures, but here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

Anne and X's Trash the Dress Shoot

Today's Trash the Dress photo shoot with Anne and her hubby, X, was a ton of FUN (the word of the day). They were both great sports while Nam and I toted them around Union Station, including outside in the 30-something degree weather. Thanks to both of them for letting us take photos of them. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

General

Since my sister has so willingly let me photograph her, her family, and her horse, General, I'm awarding her with the first post on my blog (Lucky girl!). Any of you that know my sister are aware that she is a "horse girl." Remember those girls from elementary school and middle school that couldn't stop talking about, dreaming about, reading about, and drawing horses? You know, the ones that came to school wearing riding boots and thought that manure smelled like wishes and happiness? Mmmhmm, that's her. About a year ago, the three of us (me, my sister, and General) had a photo shoot along with a few of their pals.
